My special friend……..Winnie
Created by Trula one year ago
What do I remember about my special friend Winnie? I remember her love and loyalty to me throughout her long life. I first met Winnie in the 1960s . I had moved from Salisbury congregation, with my husband and twin boys, Paul and Nigel to Bury Congregation. Winnie and Eric and family lived in Moseley Avenue, and Winnie and Eric had a market stall in Heywood. I worked on the stall every Friday. They had regular customers who wrote out their food orders for Winnie to meticulously check over before Eric carried them to his dormobile van for delivery. Winnie and Eric always gave an end of year party for their staff and family. Always a happy time. My family moved from Bury to Ramsbottom, but winnie and I still attended Buty Congregation and would be on the phone to each other , we just hit it off and we had a great friendship. The four of us met up, when it was our Wedding Anniversaries, meeting up at different pubs each year, to celebrate. Winnie was SOoo proud of her family, always looking forward to spending time in France, or down South with her sons, Janet didnt live so far from Winnie. Winnie loved her grandchildren and talked about them lovingly. Winnie was a very clever and intelligent lady with a strong personality. And could she cook! Her cheese and onion pies!! Delicious.I loved her and I miss her so very much in my life.
