Black Beck

Some of my earliest memories are of family holidays at Black Beck Caravan Park in the Lakes, where Grandma and Grandad had a static caravan.  We had many a great holiday there with them, climbing trees, walking past the farm and through an orchard to the White Hart Pub. Or at least I think there was an orchard? I have a weird half memory of Becky getting stung by a Bee there!  Then there was the trips Woolworths for some sweets and a holiday treat, if we were lucky - some favourites being a Magic Worm and a Pez candy dispenser (if you know you know!).  I also used to enjoy helping Grandma to keep a small garden at the back of the caravan tidy, she was always a lover of a nice garden.  It was quite magical as a child, especially at bed time when dining table and sofas transformed into beds.
